Gender: Male
Appearance:
When someone first sees Nero, they would notice his shoulder-length blue hair which is usually tangled and matted. His face can often be found covered with mud and dirt. He has a predominate scar that starts near his right ear and tapers off at his chin. From his upbringing he has little knowledge hygiene or self maintenance which can lead others to assume he is 'feral'. Nero's last unique characteristic are his 'burning' golden eyes. They stand in stark contrast to his blue hair, which cause them to shimmer in light and are big attention drawers.
Other than the aforementioned characteristics, Nero is a normal eleven year-old boy. He stands at five feet in height with a slender build, hewn with sinew. He dresses casually with blank, grey t-shirts. He wears worn blue-jeans with holes in the knees. His weapon of choice is a sword, but currently uses a bokken. He carries his bokken in his sash around his waist.
Personality:
Nero is often abrasive and rude to others. From being raised by his father in the Awatto forests he had little interaction with others and has a hard time being 'friendly'. He instead speaks his thoughts right or wrong. Without a classical education, Nero has issues with problem solving skills, such as basic math. He rather relies on his intuition and his base 'feelings' about things. Believing physical strength is the only trait to be admired and caring little of intelligence. With being born and raised in the forest, he has little of social idea of social norms. Nero will often pick his nose and urinate in public.
Nero can often be a one dimensional character, consumed with overcoming his father and seeking to be the strongest. This is due to the harsh treatment he received from his father growing up. With the constant feeling of inadequacy compared to his father's strength and his inability to rebel against him. This often makes others perceive him as violent and wild. He believes problems are best solved through violence.
Background:
Nero was raised by his father (Vikrum) in the forests of Awatto. From an early age he learned to fight from the wild beasts in the neighboring forests, as well his father. Heavy constraints were put on Nero, he was forced to hunt for meals as well his fathers, and was punished with beatings if he was unsuccessful in his hunts. Nero was raised under the pretense of he and his father were the only two people in existence, never allowed to stray outside the wilds of the his home forrest. Fear of his father kept from adventuring. Being raised in this fashion crippled his social skills, as well his education. Focused solely on gathering enough strength to overcome his tormentor. The boy's only respite was the peacefulness of the forest. Nero calls this the 'Song of the woods'.
At the age of eight, Nero had begun to retaliate against his father's assaults. On one night when Vikrum had gotten particularly drunk, Nero snuck into their hut, (taking a stick he had carved from a branch) attemptemping to his bludgeon his father. Before he could he connect the first blow, Vikrum immediately rose, clutching Nero's throat and slamming him into the ground. Life continued this way for the boy for the next three years. Awaiting in the shadows for his father to let down his guard, until he could find a chance to kill him. All of his skirmishes with Vikrum ended the same: with his defeat and a beating.
The last time Nero had saw his father, Vikrum was walking away from their hut in the light of dusk. A pack thrown over his shoulder and his sword strapped to his hip. Their parting was due to Nero landing his first blow on his father. Once he achieved this, Vikrum did not beat him, instead, packed his things and told the boy to 'Hunt me.' Nero watched his father disappear on the horizon and followed shortly after.
