Hatsu Lvl. 4:
1. After jumping from rooftop to rooftop for several minutes, Shinzu found himself on top of a deserted building in the middle of nowhere. All this physical exertion seemed to make his aura flare outwards. Not due to tiredness, but rather, it seemed to be excitement. The little cardio exercise seemed to make his aura hungry for something. He could only assume for battle.
This confirmed something for Shinzu. Physical exhaustion had little effect on the strength of his aura. It acted as a completely separate reserve of energy. The only issue, of course, was in him knowing that his aura’s intensity was tied to his emotional state. If he was so exhausted that he was about to pass out, then no amount of aura could save him.
Likewise, Shinzu knew that if too much physical exertion weakened his mind or ability to think, then that too would have a negative effect on his aura. To balance this, he decided to work on several relaxation techniques. Firstly, he glanced around to ensure that he wasn’t followed by the thief or colourful man. Knowing this, relieved him which in turn, relaxed his aura.
Next, Shinzu took in a deep breath while counting to seven. In his exhausted and once panting state, it was difficult to hold his breath for so long. Torturous even. However, through sheer mental willpower, he managed to do it while pausing for another four seconds. Once complete, his body was practically begging to release all that air inside of his lungs.

2. Shinzu intended to release the air from his lungs as slowly as possible. Ideally, over the course of a slow count to seven just like the inhale. However, due to all the pressure in his body, he involuntarily coughed and expelled all the air from his lungs in one go. Shaking his head, he decided to try again. He knew this attempt was no good.
Knowing that he needed to perfect the art of staying calm even amidst the most intense of battles, Shinzu allowed his lungs to empty fully before he flared his nostrils and slowly allowed his lungs to fill to the brim with air over the course of seven painful seconds. Once complete, he paused for four seconds like before to help his body utilise the oxygen.
Once complete, Shinzu relaxed himself and exhaled slowly over a final count of seven seconds. Once his lungs were empty, he simply continued the cycle of always breathing in and out over seven seconds while pausing in between for four. This was a simple relaxation technique he had learned from all the years of raging while gaming. It was easy to lose control while frustrated.
Especially when immersed in an activity like gaming, it was easy to lose control over one’s sense of breathing. The shorter breaths someone takes, the more frustrated and tense someone feels – which in turn has an effect on their emotions. This is why Shinzu knew the importance of controlling one’s breathing in order to be able to remain calm under pressure.

3. Having mastered his breathing, Shinzu decided it was finally time to work on his actual Nen ability. Upon confirming once more that no one was around the vicinity to witness his abilities, Shinzu ducked down into a hidden corner of the roof top before unleashing the entirety of his aura. A powerful blackish glow immediately possessed the outline of his body.
“Darkness… Like a Phantom.” He told himself as he raised his index finger. Carefully, Shinzu shot his aura outwards while focusing on the area around his index finger’s tip. A thin spike suddenly shot out from his finger. Focusing, he attempted to move it. However, rather than the spike curving, the entire structure moved to the side of his finger.
Not being exactly what he intended, Shinzu performed the same action as before to move the entire aura spike back to his finger tip. Once there and safe, Shinzu focused again. Sensing that perhaps there wasn’t enough aura to manipulate, which might have been making it difficult to control the structure, Shinzu began to pump more of his black aura into the spike.
As Shinzu did this, the spike began to thicken and became more visible to himself. He then focused on several points along the spike. Firstly, the tip. Utilising his ability to manipulate his aura, Shinzu tugged against the very tip of the aura spike to move it. Weirdly, it seemed to curve while the rest of the spike remained perfectly straight.

4. Focusing on this thin spike of transparent aura oozing from his finger like a tentacle, Shinzu attempted to manipulate it by tugging it upwards. Naturally, it obeyed the command and began to curl upwards like a serpent that had just been given life. Smiling, Shinzu tried again – although this time, he pushed the tentacle downwards in order to make it droop.
Having just proven to himself that he could control it, Shinzu completed the session by tugging on the aura to pull it towards the left, before finally, pulling in the opposite direction in order to drag the tentacle towards the right. Having mastered moving the tendril of aura in all four directions, Shinzu nodded to himself with a look of determination.
It was time to attempt something even harder. This time, Shinzu attempted to pull on the aura diagonally. Immediately, this seemed too difficult for his skill level as the aura simply whipped either towards the left or upwards rather than diagonally. Carefully, he focused as hard as he could on pulling the aura to the left, before pulling it upwards simultaneously.
Unfortunately, the moment Shinzu mentally inputted the ‘move upwards’ command, it seemed to overwrite the command to move left. Cancelled, the tentacle simply curled upwards rather than moving diagonally as intended. There appeared to be limitations to how well Shinzu could control his aura. Gritting his teeth, he pulled his arm backwards before whipping it forwards suddenly in red-faced frustration.

5. As Shinzu whipped his arm forwards, something strange occurred. The aura tendril, as if influenced by the force of the swing, shot out and bounced off the wall of the roof. Having become elongated, it floppily dropped onto the ground like a wet noodle. “Interesting…” He thought to himself as he focused on this large string or rope rather dangling from his index finger.
The first thing Shinzu noticed was the fact that a bead of sweat was beginning to form along his forehead. Earlier, the tiny aura tendril wasn’t draining at all. It felt as if he could keep it manifested on his finger all day. This, however, was far more taxing on his body and soul. It became clear to Shinzu that he had to be careful.
Aura abilities weren’t something to be messed around with. The more they were used, the more draining it was. Likewise, it became clear to him that the larger and more complicated effects someone creates, the more taxing it is on an individual’s energy reserves. With that in mind, Shinzu began to carefully drag the transparent aura noodle back towards him.
Like a snake given life, the noodle eerily slithered back into Shinzu’s body. With every inch of body length that it lost, the entire aura construct became lighter and easier to maintain. His theory was indeed correct. The less aura he used, the longer he could keep his creations sustained for. With that in mind, Shinzu continued retracting the ability until it was only about a meter in length.

6. Once the aura tendril was only a meter in length, Shinzu let out a quick breath to empty his lungs before taking in a longer and deeper inhale to fill his lungs to the brim with precious oxygen. As he had just learned from his earlier training, he also knew that this aura ability was related to his mood and mental state.
With that thought in mind, he knew that by slowing and gaining a better control over his breathing, he could calm his mental state to an extent where his abilities would tax him less while also becoming much more easier to control. He decided to test this theory by taking in a final deep breath, relaxing his shoulders and fixing his posture.
With all that settled, Shinzu smiled to help his body further relax before attempting to control his aura. It was a different sensation to before. Far different. The smaller tendril felt stiffer and easier to manipulate. In contrast, the longer one-meter tendril felt very droopy and floppy. As he attempted to tug it towards the left, instead of moving it shot out with little control.
This attempt blessed Shinzu with another revelation. To test his theory, he decided to pull on his tendril towards the right. Although this time, with only about half the force he was applying on his smaller tendril earlier. Like just now, the tendril shot towards the left and smacked into a wall with little aim or purpose. Although it didn’t possess weight, it felt ‘lighter’.

7. This seemed to confirm Shinzu’s theory. The more aura he pumped into his creations, the more control he seemed to have over it. He made a mental note of this. The more aura he put into his tendril, the larger it was but as a consequence, more draining on his energy too. However, as a benefit, it became much easier to control.
While taxing him more, the ability to control his tendril with such finesse was a great trade off. However, what other disadvantages did this pose to his ability? Shinzu pondered over what he had just experienced. This aura stuff seemed like a supernatural ability. However, it still seemed to follow logic to a certain degree. This made him realise something important.
Shinzu focused on his aura tendril. Did pumping more aura into it to make it larger make it more noticeable? With a high enough voltage, a simple spark of electricity could appear with a blinding flash of light. Likewise, perhaps enough aura collected into one spot could make it visible while drawing those with the ability to sense it towards him.
Like moths to a flame, Shinzu frowned. He didn’t like being the centre of attention. Naturally, this meant he did not want his abilities to be detected so easily. Could he find a way around that? Pondering, he focused on his aura and attempted to hide it from sight. This caused it to flicker slightly as it grew more transparent against the concrete backdrop.

8. Shinzu focused intently to the point where a vein began to bulge against his pale forehead. However, as hard as he tried, his ability refused to become fully invisible. Always, it seemed to flicker and give visual cues to its location. Pondering, Shinzu wondered why. His abilities up until now always seemed to obey his other wishes. Perhaps he just needed training.
Stroking his chin, he wondered if he could instead employ a more temporary solution. The most obvious answer seemed to be to change the colour of his aura rather than keeping it transparent. Focusing, he glanced at the concrete the aura was resting against and attempted to copy its colour. As he did this, the aura began to grow cloudy.
As it slowly took on a grey colour, Shinzu smiled. It somewhat resembled the concrete – minus the texture. Realising this, he focused on causing patterns to surface on the aura. However, nothing seemed to happen. The intent was simply too taxing on Shinzu’s mind for him to be able to continue. This seemed to reinforce the thought that he lacked training.
Frowning, he gave up on his attempts. He knew it required far too much focus to be able to perfectly camouflage his aura against the surroundings. In the middle of battle or a strenuous activity, there was no way he’d be able to maintain the colours. That thought then led to another idea. Smiling, he focused on his aura once more whilst shutting his eyes to drown the world around him in darkness.

9. With his eyes still tightly shut and void of any visuals, Shinzu focused on the darkness around him. He focused on the pitch-black, the complete absence of light before carefully opening his eyes whilst allowing his aura to react to his thoughts. As he opened his eyes, he smiled. Like when his eyes were shut, his aura had become completely blackened.
Twitching his index finger, he allowed the tendril to move slightly and wriggle around from the action. It was so dark that it was like he was controlling the shadows themselves. Taking pride in this new-found ability, he raised his arms high into the air to celebrate. Unforuntely, having forgotten the aura tendril was still attached, it swiftly whipped upwards with the hand movement.
As the tendril of aura flew up, it eventually stopped before slamming back downwards and throwing Shinzu off balance. Luckily, his acrobatic prowess allowed him to gain control over his body before slamming his foot down to regain balance. Upon calming himself down, he took in another deep breath and began practicing. He knew he needed far more control over his ability.
With that in mind, Shinzu made the slightest of movements with the intent of causing his tendril to lash out slightly towards the left. However, rather than smacking against the spot next to it, it leaped a meter or two towards the left. This made Shinzu realise such a powerful ability was going to require more finesse and control than he first thought.

10. Rather than twitching his finger, this time, Shinzu simply imagined himself moving his finger. Whilst keeping it in place, he attempted to move the tendons in his index finger in order to keep the action small and compact. Surprisingly, it seemed to work. Rather than the tendril lashing somewhere at the distance, it just moved slightly. The attempted seemed to be working. With this birthing courage and willpower, Shinzu made use of the positive emotions to extend out to his tendril aura. Carefully, with the tinniest of finger movements, he willed the aura to curve upwards. Unable to disobey or resist the command, the snake-like tendril curled, and the tip moved upwards just like intended. More than before, now it truly resembled a serpent. Smiling from ear to ear, Shinzu began to manipulate the aura tendril with more complex commands than before. Again, after all his failed attempts, he knew not to force the aura too much. This was just like a video game. There was always an illusion that pressing the buttons harder or screaming at the console may have a positive effect, but really, nothing would happen. Games can only react as they are told to. With that in mind, Shinzu knew to take it as his aura’s pace rather than forcing the aura to move at his own pace. Carefully, with the tinniest of finger movements, he forced the aura to slither outwards before carefully, he tested his control over it by forcing it to coil around a metal pole. It seemed to be working. [Hatsu Lvl. 4 Unlocked!]

Strength level 1:
#1. The sun was about to set in Yorknew city yet the streets felt as alive as ever, maybe you could even say that Yorknew city only ever came alive at night. Mervyn was walking around contemplating wether to join one of the matches going on later the night or if he should waste his earnings he made the other day on booze. Actually after having spent many weeks fighting in the local underground community quite a lot of people came to know who Merv, or rather Fandango was.
While making his way to his usual pub where he'd spent the evening getting drunk he encountered a familiar face along with three of his henchman blocking the way. " You made us wait you ass, but that is fine it is time for you to leave the city " The man yelled angrily. Merv then was seen nonchalantly scratching his head, " Ah another one of those matchfixers that doesn't like that I'm not buyable" He murmured to himself. "I'm not going anywhere bud, move aside and lets both just have a good evening" Merv said trying to get out of the fight but knew it was going to be one of those nights. As one of the henchman stormed at him holding a iron pipe Merv quickly lunged forward and punched the man's chest while activating his Nen, which made the man laugh but as soon as he struck his iron Pipe on Merv's arm he fell to the ground screaming out in pain.

Hatsu Lvl. 5:
1. “S-Screams?” Shinzu stuttered as the voice of a man yelling emanated into his ears. Being in the rougher parts of Yorknew city certainly had its flaws and troubles. “I-I should help…” He whispered to himself weakly as he dashed off the rooftop and with a roll, landed on top of the far livelier building adjacent to his previous location. The moment he set foot on it, vibrations began to tickle the soles of his feet. There was definitely a rowdy crowd down below. Perhaps a party?
Activating his aura, Shinzu extended his palm outward and forced a black tendril to shoot out. At its tip, a mouth suddenly burst open before biting onto the ledge of the rooftop. Using this as a makeshift rope, he carefully lowered himself back onto ground level whilst ensuring no one spotted his strange ability. He was in no mood for attention. Let alone being kidnapped and experimented on. “I can do it…” He told himself as he weakly opened the door. The stench of alcohol assaulted his nostrils. This was a pub apparently… And there was a fight going on.

Mervyn was quite hardened a hit with an iron pipe hurt him way less as it would hurt a shrimp like the one attacking him, it was just an itch and maybe would be a bruise but hey, nothing that booze couldn't fix. a second after the first attacker had fallen on the ground the other two were already storming towards him. One was carrying a baseball bat while the other one was a barehanded brawler. Quickly moving forward before the attacks came in he dodged the baseball bat strike and then planted his knee in the guys stomach making him collapse on the ground.
The sailor then moved towards the barehanded attacker who threw a lefthanded punch which Mervyn easily blocked by catching it, he then followed it up with an upper cut into the man's chin launching him up half a meter before knocking him out cold. The baseball bat guy had already gotten himself up and charged at Mervyn who activated his Hatsu as the baseball bat landed on his shoulder making the guy scream out loud as he collapsed again " Why don't you all leave me alone so I can have my drinks" Mervyn said as he sighed "What a hassle" " Hey, Can I have a double whiskey on the rocks?" Mervyn asked the barman completely ignoring his assaulters.

2. Shinzu blinked. He was quite late to the ‘party’, but he spotted a sailor standing triumphantly over a wincing drunkard. It was clear who the attacker was. “Halt evildoer!” He commanded as he attempted to step in. However, before he could attack the fiendish sailor, the downed man’s loyal friends had already stepped in to assist. “W-Wah!?” It was over much before it started. In the blink of an eye, the evil sailor finished off the two other men. This was clearly true evil at work.
“Only a villain would order double whisky on the rocks…” A cold shudder creeped up Shinzu’s spine. All the confidence he had worked so hard to build up until now left him at the mere sight of all the defeated men. All three were even twice his size. He stood no chance against this whisky-lover. “W-Who are you…” He asked weakly as his legs began to shake. As always, his instincts cried out to run. However, could he? A villain such as this would likely attack the moment he turned to face the exit. This wasn’t an opponent he could let his guard down around. “Focus…” He told himself as his aura began to flare. He knew that panic and negative emotions weakened his energy and abilities. To sharpen them and stand a chance against this foe, he attempted to control his breathing with a few deep breaths.

#3. As Mervyn had just ordered himself a nice whiskey he heard a faint voice in the background, something about an evildoer? he was rather confused and hoped this meant no more fighting as he really didn't feel like it. He sighed as he sat down on a barstool but then noticed someone standing behind him as Mervyn turned around he saw a somewhat dull but very kind looking guy had just made him out to be a Villain. Merv scratched his head as he was being rather confused on what was going on. " Names Fandango, Mervyn Fandango to be precise " The sailor said in a calm tone while he extended his hand, which he carefully coated with his Hatsu to activate his ability in case something was going to happen. Merv knew from experience to always be on guard.
"Hey are you with that stupid matchfixer? If not care to join me for a drink?" Mervyn continued, trying to make sure this situation wasn't going to escelate. Meanwhile the matchfixer was still standing there, yelling at his henchman who were frozen in place after their short fight with Mervyn. The atmosphere changed, once Mervyn had called the matchfixer stupid, the matchfixer removed a gun from his jacket and aimed it at Mervyn " Do you think you are in a position to call me stupid the matchfixer asked as the gun was still aimed at his target. Mervyn chuckled as he took a sip from his whiskey " Yep I am" Mervyn exclaimed before looking back at the boy he was talking with before they got interupted " So what will you have?"
